Dinner at Cafe Brio

My 3 nights were over! It was a peaceful one last night with Alice and Ros!
Went home to sleep for a couple of hours then dinner was at Cafe Brio with Silly boy and family~ his parents, sister and sister's boyfriend.

This was the first time I had escargots at Cafe Brio. It was good! We ate quite a lot of it heeeee buffet mah!
My favourite was this lotus soup! Very "mum's style"!
The desserts were good as well especially the lychee sago.
We were very very full after the dinner! We went strolling at Orchard to digest however we were too tired to walk after that. We decided to go home to have a good rest!
Heeeeee going to bed now..... GOOD NIGHT!
HAPPY NEW YEAR IN ADVANCED! BEST WISHES!

Day 2 night

Finally the second night is over and after a couple of hours I will be doing my last night with Alice and Ros. Well, no admission on the second night however one of my patient was bleeding "endlessly"! Ann and I tried very hard to prevent our bedsheet from staining but in the end we failed. The patient was also bleeding from the plug site and that got our bedsheet stained. We decided not to change the bedsheet anymore because patient was so heavy and restless! The ETT almost slip out during our sponging.
My other patient was "smaller" but was very sick. Her heart rate kept dropping, and I guess I may not see her tonight. Luckliy I have two hardworking staff working with me hahahaha otherwise I think I will suffer big time!
Hope I can have a peaceful last night!

"Refresher" night!

WOOooooo last night was occupied! We were working for overflows patients. Out of our 6 patients, 3 were overflows patients and all 3 were very sick! My 2 patients were gasping and both were bleeding badly. Both need transfusion, need dialysis and both intubated! I got both patients mixed up and wrote the wrong report! Hahahahaha .....
It was kind of a refresher night because I have not been doing nights for months, then I have not been nursing very sick patients and also have not assist insertion of lines for a very long time! Last night, everything was being refreshed! Heeeeee though was quite occupied, was still able to manage. At least we have time to sit and have our supper.
Last night felt a little frustrated with the people'e behaviour. The test of the dialysis machine failed so we tried to troubleshoot but it ended up stuck on one of the screen that said "end treatment". Ann and I were puzzled because we never come to this screen before hence I called up the dialysis center. The staff kept asking me what happened and kept saying it is impossible to come to that screen. I told her in actual fact we didnt really press anything, just that the test failed and it came to that screen. She insisted that we pressed something. She kept grumbling said she will not be able to come up because she was so busy ...... blah blah.... then she wanted me to repeat what have I done. I told her "Stop bugging with that issue ok staff, that was already over, can you just tell me what can I do to help the patient now?????"
She kept quiet after that. For the patient's sake, we have to return blood which I have never done before. We did it cautiously, followed the instructions carefully.
Really cant stand the attitute! SO grumpy!
Then we were being forced to take the overflow, because there is "no other choice" but to admit to us. Want us to do a favour. All right, we did admit the patients and people want to do everythings stat. Order everything at the same time without realised that we have only 3 staff. I would say people are not appreciative. We took one after another but after we did the favour, they forgotten about it.
After a while, someone wanted us to admit another HD/ ICA lodger patient. We told him that we already doing others a favour and we have not settle those patients. I would not be able to manage another lodger patient. He can simply review cases in the HD/ ICA, why cant he just do us a favour to repay our kindness earlier? I dont understand the behaviour of people over here. Very selfish I would say.
True enough, the person woke himself up to review a patient and it solved all problem. It is that simple yet people just dont want to help.
Sigh....Come to think about it, if there is no overflows patients, we would be VERY free! Hahaha only 3 patients will be in the ICU!

Those were the days!

I dont know how many year old exactly are these pictures but I know it is all are at least three years ago! Those were the days where I was still wearing specs and those were the fun and enjoyable moments with my colleagues!

Nathan is not known as Nathan at that time hahaha and I am also not known as Bala!

Jasmine and me! I remembered she pretended to be the patient lying on the bed hahahaha

We seems very free hor..........

The "pig" Alice with me! I think we were on night duty.

A gathering at NM Ong's old flat and East coast for cycling!
Group picture in the ICU and Aisha's place on Hari Raya.
Choon Chai and Meili's wedding and Koh's ROM..............

The "DC" food!

HAHAHAHA was buying groceries at Sheng Siong just now then I saw "LAO GAN MA" hot sauce!!!!!!!! Oh.... it reminds me of those days that I was in DC! I decided to have "mix pot" for dinner!

It is so much cheaper to make "mix pot" in SG! The ingredients are so much cheaper and more varieties of vegetables. Uhhmmmmm taste good!

Xmas eve celebration

I mentioned about the Botak Jones near my place right, there is always long queue every night! That day my mum queued for 45 mins for buffulo wings, lamb chop and chicken chop. She was given a Chinese and English version of the photocopied menu to "study" and the menu can be bring back.
The food is nice when it is hot but when it turns cold it become hard. The packaging is really "high class" and of course you are expected to pay a slighter more than the usual "coffee shop" rate.

XMAS EVE

I was on morning shift yesterday. Look at the "someone" in the picture in shorts with socks and working shoes! Hahahahahahhaaha look nice or not??????!!!?!?!?
The chocolates are given by our director of nursing. Looks very expensive hor!

First xmas party was at Silly boy's house. His mum prepared a lot of good food for their guests and family members ~ oven baked penne with seafood, fresh green salad with my favourite Italian dressing, pasta, aspagarus wrapped with bacon, bread with olive oil and of course turkey with apple sauce!
Second party was at my auntie's place with a lot of my relatives! These are my cousins! (there are many more of them not in the picture)

Look at my little darling Genevieve!!!!! She knows how to sing now! She is SO adorable but she is very very very "TAE"!!!!!!!!

So sleepy.......... wanted to do my report but I have not finish wrapping my presents! It is XMAS EVE tomorrow!!!!!!!! What should I wear to the xmas parties??!?!?!?!?!?!
Mum just came home with dinner. She went down to queue 45mins for the newly open authentic american food ~ Botak Jones! Silly boy told me it is very popular and is VERY NICE! OK, I am going to try it now..........

"Davidson"

Little "Davidson" visited the ward today heeeeee he is so adorable! He allows everyone to carry him!!!!!! *CUTE*!
First day back to work was a day of "questioning and answering"! Shared with my colleagues a lot of my experiences and encounters while I was in WHC. My colleagues said that I am now the "AMI" nurse so they assigned to me nurse all the AMI patients this afternoon hahaha I dont mind because they are the easiest patients to nurse!
I received a lot of xmas presents as well! Thank you gals very very much!
It was a peaceful evening with brother Sim on call ;)

The buffet day!

Yesterday was a buffet day! Went to the Copthorne Orchid hotel for pre-xmas lunch and Tung Lok Noble house for dinner. Never stop eating ever since I came back! Heeeeee

Copthorne Orchid is serving the xmas lunch and a mixure of asian food. I like the sambal squid and beef rendang! The chicken rice was quite a good one as well.

Buffet dinner at another good place~ Noble house. The sharks fin taste so good! Generally, this place never disappoint me. It serves good quality food and the service is excellent!
Going back to work in another few hours time. Uhmmm it seems that work was very busy for the past few days. I hope it would be a peaceful one this afternoon because I think I have forgotten how to work! I need some time to pick up my skills again HHhahahahahahaha

These few days in SG

I was out with mum the following day when I was back in SG. We went bugis to have our lunch and went to pray in Guanyin Temple. My first meal in SG was tom yam "chor bee hoon"! The prawns were very fresh! Mum had nasi lemak....

In the evening, I had dinner with Silly boy at M hotel ~ the buffet.

The soup base were tom yam and chicken broth. As usual, the ingredients were very fresh! We love the chicken, prawns and fish!
...and of course the fresh cockles! There was durian paste at the dessert bar as well. Uhmmm everything taste good!
I have been waking up early but the jet lag was not as bad as compared to the time I just arrived at DC. Probably I have been living in SG for the past 28 years and have get used to the timing over here!
Sigh... back to SG means have to start work pretty soon! ;(
