After This Our Exile

I would say that this is Aaron Kwok’s best-ever movie performance. I do like the plot however the ending is rather abrupt. I supposed the reason is because many scenes were being cut off hence make it less remarkable. Actually there are three different versions on this movie distributed to Hong Kong, Malaysia and Mainland Chinese (of different duration). It seems that the version for Malaysia is more than two hours. I truly think that it is a waste that we cannot get to see the other version of it :(

The missing parts:
*He used to have the looks and respect from friends but now it's all gone
I guess the other version of the movie started with some information on aaron's background, his relationship with his friends and how close is he with the son but it wasnt on the Sg version.

*Eric Tsang and Tony Leung
Both of them wasnt on the screen too.

*I didnt see these two scenes...and there were some flashed back scenes wasnt shown as well.

:( extremely upset! SIGH...

By the way the show was film in rural Perak.
Whatever it is... I am still impressed with Aaron's and "his son" (Gauw Ian Iskandar) performance! GREAT EFFORT!

  • Ya lor... so many scenes kana censored. Why must they censor, I oso dun understand. Alvin complained, "We buy the DVD better!"

I oso dun like how the movie was dubbed. Maybe the Cantonese version will be better.

Nonetheless, I enjoyed the storyline and the actors. *drool*
