Sunday in Washington DC

Woke up this morning feeling very fresh, thought it must be late morning however it was only 630am when I checked! I think I have not get used to the time here and I realised we became 11 hours difference from SG instead of 12! ????? Dont know what happened!?? The time is slower after a night?????

I knew I was not able to sleep anymore hence woke up to go sight seeing instead! The streets were quiet, guess not many will wake up early on a Sunday morning!

It was quite cold in the morning and the air is very fresh..... flowers are colourful and beautiful along the streets.

Free newspapers near the Metro station and there's a fire station along the street.

The Rosslyn metro station that is near my apartment. The fares are reasonable and we bought the whole day unlimited rides ticket that cost US6.50. The weekly one cost US22.... I was thinking whether to buy when I start work..... uhm anyway, their metro station are quite warm and dark....

....with extremely long escalators in each station....

We went to the Metro centre to have breakfast without realised that it was very early in the morning. We have nothing to eat except ~ Mcdonalds! (AGAIN) Yeah, again! Ordered quite a bit... two muffins and one wrap with two hash browns.

The "steak wrap" forgotten what is it called. The muffins are sweet, so not really what I like though it taste quite good. I ordered egg/ bacon muffin and silly boy ordered egg/ sausage muffin. We have to stand to eat as there are only tables for people to crowd around to eat. There are security guard to make sure that no one loiter or stay there more than 30mins! Not like in SG uh, kids study there but here definately NO! Its a fast food restaurant, just to eat FAST and go FAST!


After a 10mins walk, we reached Chinatown. Nothing much there but met a few CHINESE! At least we dont look weird among the locals! Look at that restaurant "Cheng Long (Jackie Chan)Seafood Restaurant!" hahahaha

A local insisted to take picture for us! I was so afraid that he runs away with my camera, luckily he didnt but he asked from us USD1... Have to give lah, though he is friendly, he is also tall, big, dark... scary leh
Brookland will be the stop near Washington Hospital Centre. I will start work tomorrow :(

A visit to the White House......

..... and the area there... this place is full of flowers and trees... beautiful!





Nice weather with beautiful buildings.....

We found a supermarket near my apartment!!!!!! WE were excited and bought many food home to cook! VERY happy to find this supermarket that it is so near my apartment. I will definately cook everyday! AND finally I have vegetables to eat! (I have been eating BURGERS, already put on weight!!!!!!)

Bought a pizza home to snack who knows its so BIG for a medium! No need to cook dinner tonight!.....

Went home to "slack" at about 4plus and the sky turned dark at about 530pm... and we were very very sleepy, think the body have not get used to the timing here...
