The 19 hours of flight! Finally...I am here!

On the 3rd Nov 0530hrs (Sg date/ time), boarded Northwest Airline to Washington. Not direct, but transit, transit and TRANSIT! Above is silly boy, he will be there with me for a couple of days... and, hey, I NEVER in my life wear a pair of sports shoes with jeans! This is really the first time! Hahaha
Went in from gate 44. Dont know how come always 44..... this number always "haunting" me!

The total numbers of hours on board was 19 hours but have not include the transit time! Actually we have been traveling for 24hours in total! Out of this 24 hours, we have been eating, sitting, sleeping and .... eating and sleeping and eating....... AND EATING!
First meal on board ~ Nasi lemak or egg/ bacon and hash brown.
Followed by snack ~ Cheese sandwich with juices.

After 7 hours we finally reached the first transit point ~ Tokyo! Very excited, finally able to get up to walk. The weather was quite cooling, 15 degree. There are lots of shops in the airport (eh Nathan, not like that one lor, that airport got nothing one, hahahahaahaa) then me and silly boy saw ~

McDonalds! (Food again!)
Ordered the Ebi meal... WAHHHHhhhhhhh...... BERI GOOOoood, YUMMY! As we ate...we heard an announcement! ~ "Paging for Mr Silly boy and Ms silly girl, please proceed to gate 24 NOW!" Ahahahahahaa

Initially we were early because there were two Northwest flight flying to Detroit, we queued the wrong one then realised we have an hour to loiter that's why we were happily having Mcdonalds and almost wanted to order another "pork set"! Hahaha really laughing at ourselves when we heard the announcement partly giggling also because of the way they pronounced our name. Very comical! Hahaha
We boarded the plane around 1530hrs (Tokyo time), it was long hours flight therefore suddenly the sky became dark.

Shortly, its dinner time! (Ughh???) Dark already means got to eat ah??? Just had Mcdonalds leh! Anyway.... EAT!
Beef with mashed potato or curry chicken with salad, smoked salmon and desserts.
Few hours later was sweet chocolate cake for snacks!

After 10 hours in the plane (my butt hor, wa lau! Even now I can feel the pain when I sit down), I saw daylight again! Very confused when flying long hours... Yeah, then it was BREAKFAST! EAT AGAIN!!!
Japanese fried noodles or cheese scrambled eggs... we both had the Jap noodles. It doesnt look nice but tasted good. Been sitting for hours but still able to eat so much! We are impressed with ourselves!

YEAH! 10 hours later... no, after 17 hours on the plane, we reached Detroit! USA! The security was really tight! It is not easy to pass their custom. They will ask everyone many questions and I was even brought to another place to pass the custom because I am staying long for attachment. They really questioned me leh, so scary!
In Sg/ Tokyo, we have to take out our laptop from our bag for them to x-rays then they will pick and randomly check on people's carrier. In US, not only taking out our laptop to x-ray but everyone must have their bag check and even take off our shoes for them to x-ray!!! When we came out we have to rush to put in our laptop (barefooted) then carry our stuff (bags, laptop, shoes and whatever you are carrying) then bring our shoes to a corner to wear and put everything back in place! Very clumsy lor!
Lastly from Detroit, we boarded the last flight to Washington DC. That was 1330hrs in Detroit. That was a 2 hours flight.

FINALLY....... FINALLY AHHHHHH....Washington Dulles!!!!!!!!!!!!! Reached around 1700hrs (Washington time).

Saw many AEDs machine in the airport. We took our luggages and took a taxi to the apartment I am going to stay. The taxi cost us US60 (SG88)! Throughout the 35mins of journey, I dozed off, then I dreamt that I was on a plane! When I opened my eyes I was like "Oh heng ah, not anymore!" hahahahaha really enough!!!!!

The lobby of my apartment!
Dining area that have a small opening to see through to the kitchen.

I love the kitchen. Its very well equipped ~ washing machine cum dryer, oven, microwave, toaster, fridge, dish washer, stove, pots/ pans/ kettle/ cutlery... then they provide detergent, dish washing liquid....everything lah! Very convenient, luckily I brought non of the above here hahaha can use theirs. Silly boy already started washing clothes heeee the dryer very good! Washed our jeans and dry immediately! In SG we seldom do that lah, so waste of electricity hahahahaha

Just after the dining table is the living room. Behind the blind is a big balcony! When its more bright then I will take some pictures, right now is too dark.
The bedroom... very cosy. The bedroom also linked to the balcony, the door is behind the blind.
A walk-in wardrobe. Also everything provided ~ towels, hair dryer, iron and iron board....
Restroom with bathtub, also towels in there, shower cream, body lotion, shampoo/ conditioner (from neutrogena)... housekeeping every weekly, free internet assess (this is something really great!), many nights of free dinner (they have thur teriyaki night, fri ladies night etc), yoga session/ gym room (FOC) and free breakfast provided. Initially I could not even find an accomdation and this one came very last minute (2 days before I flew here!). I am very glad that it is a cosy, safe and convenient home for my 6 weeks here! I would love to cook everyday for myself to eat! Uhmmm I hope things are cheap in the supermarket!
The time here is exactly 12 hours different from SG. So if its 6am in SG, it will be 6pm in Washington! Friends, email me when u gals/ guys are free ok! Probably online in the morning will see me heeeee
Cheers! Take care, soon I will be back home!
