Nurse.... NURSE AHHHH....
The whole night we were "disturbed" by 3 patients~ room 20, room 14 and room 16.
Room 16 was the "mild" one, he only called to tell us that he had "pass motion". He kept telling us that he has done it but whenever we check, it was just a "false alarm". The whole night we have been "fool" many many many times!
Room 14 was the extreme one. He called every 15mins to half an hour just to "Please pass me my hp", "Please put back my hp", "Please pass me my hp", "Please put back my hp"..... and it went on and on..... he would throw his so called "scratcher" or the pillow on the floor and press the bell to ask us to pick it up. He would suddenly shout or make a lot of moaning noise in the room however when we confronted him, he said he didnt know. He would press the bell and asked us to bring down the side rails and allowed him to go downstairs to buy food! (He cant even move himself on the bed!!!!!!) Lastly he told us the doctor allowed him to go home. HOW IRRITATING! But we knew he is the attention seeking type so ~ he is still bearable!
Room 20 was the EXTREMELY IRRITATING/ ANNOYING one! He is the "SMART" guy who thinks that he knows everything. He would teach you how to nurse/ treat him, he expect us to give him whatever he orders. Eg: IV lasix 20mg if he passes urine less than 200ml per shift. He claims that he can drink as much water as he wants (no matter how breathless he is) as long as lasix is served. Throughout the night, he had 4 cups of milo. He asked for another one at 5plus in the morning and I asked him "SIR, dont mind me asking, do you DRINK MILO throughout the night while you are AT HOME??????????" Well, he answered no. I was wondering, he complaint that he couldnt sleep and he was given sleeping pills then instead of trying to sleep, he was obsessed with passing urine and drinking milo. He EXPLAINED that he drank milo so MUST pass urine... but night time is for you to rest, not to obsess with drink 150ml milo and pass 200ml urine (and if not 200ml urine must give lasix!!!!!!!) It doesnt make sense to me at all!
When his ECG rhythm went bazarred, he mentioned that we should "synchronized" his device, bring down the heart rate and blah blah blah...... as though he knows a lot but on the other hand, he was so afraid.
"NURSE... NURSE, how come my heart rate so fast??? You all should "synchronized" it...".... "SISTER SISTER.... open the curtain please, and on the lights..."....
"SISTER SISTER.... you dont close the door, leave it open!!!!!!" .......
"NURSE, call my brother in.... then ask him to call my wife"....
"Sister, I think I want to pass urine, can help me to pass urine???" *WHAT THE %$^%* ..... "NURSE NURSE, I know what's the problem, its the atrium and ventricle something wrong, must bring the heart rate down...."...
"NURSE, I think its the "anesthetic" effect over that's why the heart rate so fast".... ******HUH????!!!!! WHAT TALKING YOU??? Rolled eyes******
We were so happy to see the morning staff, finally came to take over and give us a break! Hopefully one of them can be transfer out however I think the chances of seeing them again is very high!...... :(
