Almost 5!

Told you guys the jinx registrar was on call last night. We nearly admit 5 patients but fortunately.............. we "ESCAPED" quite a few but with a lot of hassles throughtout.
We took in one patient (1st patient) for SLED from the other station, that was around 9plus. This patient was all right, after 3 hours of SLED we transferred him back. The action started at.... think around 12plus. The call was from DEM, one APO intubated patient (2nd patient) needed an ICU bed. We were full house therefore we moved one of Belinda's patient out to take the APO patient. We waited for half an hour for the patient then another call came, our registrar activated the lab for an acute patient (3rd patient)! *SIEN* .... We sent out one of Janice's patient and prepared the room for the acute. Meanwhile the registrar appeared and asked us where was the collapsed APO patient. We were puzzled because no one collapsed and the APO patient has not even arrive. Shortly he received a call and was told that the APO patient collapsed on the way and was pushed in to other ICU to resus. He rushed down with the medical officer while we continued to wait in our ICU.
Half an hour later, the APO patient came. He was so purple and his frothy secretions was all over him and his shirt! After about one and half hour of resus, he was pronounced dead at 2plus. While we were doing last office, we received another phone call (4th one!) that a patient from other ward would be going for acute PTCA! *SIEN AH!!!* I really dont know to create which bed for this 4th patient because everywhere was full. Just when I wanted to send one of the patient out, we were told that the 3rd patient was not coming to us because the findings were TVD with LM. *PHEW*! In this case, we had one vacant bed ready for the 4th patient.
We settled with the death, the SLED patient and was ready to take the 4th patient. WHILE WAITING, another call came from DEM (5th patient)!!! CCF patient, breathless, EF 10%..... I asked the DEM staff a lot of questions (really dont feel like taking in any cases anymore!) and found that the patient was not supposed to come to us but because there were no bed outside therefore were told to lodge the patient in the ICU. I remembered some beds were created hence I told the staff to call the respective station. FORTUNATELY, we "siam" this case! *THANK GOD*!
In between these activities, patients call for drinks, call to sit up/ go toilet, patient climbed out of bed.......imagine how frustrated we were!
At 5am, everything was settled. We sat on the chair to "STONE"........Our back ache and we were mentally and physically drained!
