IT fair in Suntec
I went to the IT fair in Suntec (ALONE) yesterday. I have never been to such fair because I am not interested in any of the stuff. However this time round, I thought of getting a notebook so I went to take a look since everyone is saying that the fair offer good prices.
I reached about 6plus in the evening and of course it would be crowded on a Saturday. No no...its VERY CROWDED! Actually I know nothing about computer... The only thing that I know is how to online, how to type, know some simple cutting and pasting of files, know very simple download of stuff... I think that's about all. While the sales person explained to me the functions and how good the notebook is, my mind was only "UHHHHH? @*$%^%#^#$^#&^*... dont know what you talking about!!!" and my next sentence is always "Thank you, I look around first!"
So what I did was only collect pamphlets and compared the ... the things lah, I also dont know what those things in the notebook are for! Things like GHz, MHz, MB (what the heck is that???)My conclusion was "more or less the same leh", the only difference to me was only the weight and size and colour hahahaha. Of course those with faster speed will be slightly more expensive but I think the normal one is good enough...
After walking many rounds in the hall, I decided to get either Dell or Acer. Most of the Acer's notebook is quite big so in the end I decided to get
Dell XPS M1210 $1849. Looks small, slim, nice and weigh only 1.98kg. I have been using Dell's desktop for the past years and so far no problem at all so I supposed their notebook should be as good.
Actually its between this or Dell Inspiron 640m ($1399), 2.41kg. I compared the two and the only difference was only the size and weight. Well, again, I know nothing so I asked the sales person, he told me the same thing. However when I placed order for M1210, he told me it comes without case and no bluetooth. He told me frankly that both were the same, why not get the cheaper one, its only 0.5kg difference in weight (just like carry M1210 with another half filled 500ml water bottle!!!) and the cheaper one comes with case and bluetooth.
Uhhh, after I decided on one he confused me again leh! I was thinking about it for a while and in the end I get the cheaper one lor. Whatever lah, anything is fine with me, I know nothing also. He asked me whether I would like to upgrade "blah blah blah... blah software" (again I dont know what he was talking about) I told him I dont want anything hahahaha just a plain notebook with whatever free upgrade they are giving me will be fine. Now people using windows vista instead of window xp... I also dont know what's the difference.... anyway I got it already, will ask people for help later for installing of stuff hahahaha
Oh yeah then I parked my car at Esplanade for free heeeeeeee so lucky and I strike i bet again ;) heeeeeeeeeeeeee
