MAD HOUSE!
We took over 3 patients from the morning staff, they had a very peaceful morning but we were not so fortunate! After handed over shift, we started receiving calls from A&E. 3 acute patients going for procedure almost at the same time, 1 was intubated, 1 in APO, another one only 37 years old.
I cant remember what have I done, I only know that we were very busy because we have been working and working and working .... and WORKING.... never stop taking in patients!
Summary of the patients:
Room 14: Acute PTCA done yesterday, he is well, can go out but no bed outside.
Room 15: Came in last minute 2030hrs from the general ward because his AICD malfunction. (JUST FOR MONITORING.......)
Room 16: Came in 1510hrs, the young acute patient with TVD! Poor chap...
Room 17: Acute PTCA done yesterday as well, also no bed for him to go out.
Room 18: Came in 1610hrs from CVL, the moment he was being transfered to the bed, we intubated him because he was so breathless! Another APO and the findings of angiogram was only minor CAD! He is also in ARF hence dialysis (CVVH) started around 1700hrs.
Room 19: EMPTY
Room 20: This patient is demented, for the past few days he has been complaining of chest pain. He admitted for AMI however the family opted for medical treatment due to his age so we sent this patient out this afternoon! Later in the evening, the patient's family members was creating a scene outside demanded to send the father in for monitoring! We took him back at 1945hrs!!!!! He was still the same, no changes in condition, he never get worsen at all!!! Came in just to please the family members???!! Really sick of this kind of management style!
Room 21: The most ill acute patient. He was intubated in CVL and IABP inserted, later attempted Swan Ganz in the ICU and started dopamine, dobutamine, heparin and dormicum. At late evening, he was bleeding hence heparin was stopped. GS came and did an OGD for him, then started losec infusion. Blood was transfused...
What a day.... that's all that I can remembered. Oh yeah and my last meal was at 12noon but I am too tired to even chew any food now! I need a good rest and prepare for another battle tomorrow!

Lousy day hor?
Tahan, bala. Just a few more days, we'll be free from work for 10 days or so. Thinking about it made me feel happier. But for now... I pray that everybody remains healthy so that they don't have to come to the hospital!!!
