Another tiring shift....
I went in to the ICU with Nathan then we saw the E-trolley was not at the usual "parking lot". We were like "SHIT", dont tell me another busy morning????!??!!?!!!? The counter was messy, the staff were running around, machines/pumps were beeping.......
We were so busy that I dont really remember what I have done! Let me do a quick summerise:
Room 15- a very ill intubated patient with IABP and vascular catheter railroad during our shift. Did an hour of duplex scan on him and end of the day planned to insert Swan ganz for him!
Room 16- Sent out a patient at 2030hrs and took in one from other station. Another APO intubated patient after blood transfusion!!!! Started him on dopamine and dobutamine but BP still low, probably in cardiogenic shock. After stat ECG done, the registrar activated the laboratory and we sent him down for angioplasty and probably IABP insertion. How unlucky!
Room 18- Again was the same female patient that made lots of noise! Today was irritate by one of the relative, she kept pestering us over minor things about the patient! Got really frustrated with her!
Room 19- Still the very sick female patient, has been giving her blood since the starting of shift till the end! FFP, platelets, PCT... HB still 6.8! That was not all, she had many episodes of VT and we shocked her a total of 6 times this evening. After started maintainence lignocaine, she was much better. Lignocaine is still better than amiodarone........
Room 21- I have nothing to comment again... uhmm she stinks hahahaahahahahaha Kavi said she always hold her breathe when she goes into room 21!
We all went home at 2150hrs........... TIRED....................... I am the in charge tomorrow and I havent read most of the case notes, gonna get scolding by boss!
