Another busy day

Was on with Koh, Regine and Huiling this afternoon. Calvin was on call, he was very frustrated with the nonsense stuff that he has to deal with while we were busy and irritated by patients and relatives! It was a pretty occupied evening.
I have one patient transferred in from other ward for dialysis however he has got no line so we have to insert one. When we were about to start the procedure, the lab called and informed that the patient's platelets was only 12. YEAH 12! I dont understand why cant they check everything properly before they send the patient down to me. Needless to say, we cannot insert the line and the patient has to lodge in the ICU because not stable to go back to the general ward and our step down unit was full. Of course the next thing I have to do is to arrange for platelets to transfuse....... While busy with this patient, my other patient was not doing well. BP crashed and have to start a lot of drugs ~ we max the four inotropes however his BP was still very low. He collapsed at about 2050hrs and we started CPR and stuff...... He came back then we managed to hand over to the night staff but after a few minutes he collapsed again. We shocked him once and he came back... after a while he went asystole again...and it went on... I left about 2145hrs while the resus was still ongoing.
So tired..... I am glad that my off day is the day after tomorrow!
