Busy in the ICU

My colleagues bought a cake and a bouquet of flowers for my boss. I am not too sure whether its her birthday today ;P but I was there to share the cake. I can see that she felt very happy upon receiving the flowers and cake. (SIGH.. problem uploading picture again!)
I was out on "reservist" starting from this week, which means I will be working outside the ICU in the ICA. I took over 7 patients and sent out 4 of them so ended the evening with only 3 patients.
The ICU was very busy this morning, there was one death (18 year old young boy)and many ill patients. This evening was worst... Nathan came over to ICA and told me one patient collapsed in the scan room and she was going over to help, hence she told me to standby in the ICU. I went over and that was about 4pm, I stayed all the way till 8plus because the work never seems to finish! All in all, 3 patient collapsed. 1 was intubated, 1 DC shocked, the last 1 was the 1 in the scan room. Resuscitated again immediately after he came back... 28 adrenaline given, that's all I know. Spent almost 3 hours resuscitated him however he died (He was bleeding from EVERYWHERE! Very bad case). While we were so busy, the registrar activated the laboratory for an acute PTCA case! What the HECK is going on!
Work and work and work... I felt symptoms of hypoglycemia at about 7plus, fortunately my boss brought back some packed food so I went to gobble up the whole packet of ehhhh thai food. I dont quite like it but better than nothing!
It was a terrible evening but luckily my ICA was peaceful. PHEW!
